WWE TLC 2017 Shakeup: Wyatt, Dallas & Reigns OUT, Styles & Angle IN

Due to a viral meningitis outbreak involving Bo Dallas, Bray Wyatt, and Roman Reigns, WWE has drastically changed plans for this Sunday’s TLC RAW exclusive pay per view on the WWE Network.

Instead, Kurt Angle makes his long awaited return to the ring in place of Reigns while the Bullet Club leader match that hardcore fans have been waiting for in WWE for over a year will now happen (with no build) between original leader Finn Balor (aka Prince Devitt) and the 2nd unofficial leader “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles.

We examine these changes, what it means for the card, and the good and bad of giving away two highly anticipated in-ring performances with no build whatsoever.

NXT Brings Back War Games: What Is War Games?

In a surprise move this past week, Triple H announced that the next NXT TakeOver special on the WWE Network will be subtitled “War Games”.

Sting in War GamesThe match made famous in Jim Crockett Promotions and the NWA during the 80s, later carried by WCW in the 90s, was at one time considered one of the most brutal matches in wrestling. The November TakeOver will bring back that tradition, one of a few 80s NWA territory traditions they’ve brought back recently with Starrcade as well being held in November.

We look at the history of War Games, what it is, and how the teams involved in this new version might likely change the game of this iconic pro wrestling match.

Vince McMahon Wants To Make WWE Pay Per Views Great Again

WrestleMania stageRecent rumors have reported that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon wants to increase the quality of main event matches for WWE’s secondary pay per views.

Usually, during the time after Summer Slam and before Survivor Series, WWE shows tend to be a bit down in quality and importance. The recent No Mercy pay per view which featured two “Wrestlemania” quality matches (Reigns vs. Cena, Strowman vs. Lesnar) is part of an apparent new initiative to increase slumping house show attendance, WWE Network subscriptions, and RAW and SmackDown LIVE ratings.

WWE Summer Slam 2017 Review


The last few years of Summer Slam haven’t been all that great but 2017 proved to be a step up from the prior year.

With Brock Lesnar, Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns, and Samoa Joe headlining with a crazy Fatal 4Way match, Shinsuke Nakamura challenging Jinder Mahal for the WWE World Championship, and an undercard that had some decent matches and some really terrible ones, this year’s edition was a mixed bag.

This is our review of WWE Summer Slam 2017.

NXT TakeOver Brooklyn III Review

After a few less-than-awesome NXT TakeOver’s, the “developmental” brand of WWE comes back with a spectacular show for NXT TakeOver Brooklyn III.

Ember Moon challenges Auska for the NXT Women's ChampionshipFeaturing a NXT Championship match between Bobby Roode and Drew McIntyre, a Match of the Year contender between Asuka and Ember Moon for the NXT Women’s Championship, and a few other stand out matches on the night, the biggest surprise came with the emergence of former Ring of Honor stars.

Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish reunited as reDRagon to attack the tag division and aid former member of The Elite, Adam Cole, as he made his intentions clear to go after the NXT Championship.

We also had surprise commentary from Jim Ross and Corey Graves.

According to the Wrestling Observer, Austin Aries asked for his release by WWE that was reported earlier today.

Aries, according to rumors, claimed to not be happy being pigeon-holed as a Cruiserweight and didn’t feel he was being used to his fullest potential by the company.

Dixie Carter to WWE? Great Balls of Fire Preview

Enzo Amore attacked by Big CassReports state that former TNA IMPACT President Dixie Carter will appear on the WWE Network for a special about Kurt Angle. While surprising, is it also possible for Carter to have an on-air role in WWE?

Also, we look at this weekend’s Great Balls of Fire pay per view and the matches between Enzo Amore and Big Cass as well as the main event between WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe.

Austin Aries Released by WWE


Today World Wrestling Entertainment released pro wrestler Austin Aries in a bit of a shocker to the pro wrestling community.

Aries was heavily featured in the WWE’s Cruiserweight division for the first part of this year and was a former talent on NXT. Called up to the main roster in 2016, Aries suffered an injury while in NXT but worked his way back into the ring.

This future endeavor’ing comes as a bit of a warning to the rest of the WWE Cruiserweight Division, especially the 205 Live show which has been sagging in the ratings on WWE Network.

WWE Money in the Bank 2017 Review

Jinder Mahal defended his WWE Championship against former champion Randy Orton in his hometown and in front of his father, the Smackdown Women’s Division had the first ever Women’s Money in the Bank match, and we got a new debut of talent for the SDLive roster at the WWE Network’s Money in the Bank 2017 event.

This is our review of the highs and lows of a decent event from World Wrestling Entertainment. Some controversy, two solid matches, and the establishment of legit heels in high positions highlighted this card.
